Raw Bar

The menu at Lakeside starts just as you would expect, with fresh-caught seafood that is both raw and chilled. A Jumbo Shrimp co*cktail is almost large enough to be an entree and the Steak Tartare comes with house-pickled vegetables and a truffle mustard aioli sauce.

The Spice Crusted Bigeye Tuna is one of the more unique options and it also comes with some truffle aioli sauce. Depending on what was caught recently, you’ll have an option between west and east coast oysters.

To get a taste of all the raw and chilled seafood Lakeside has the offer, try the Shellfish Plateau – Petite, or the Shellfish Plateau – Grand. Both come with crab legs, shrimp, and oysters but the grand adds on lobster, tuna tartare, and crab salad. Of course, you’ll pay a premium for the platters as the petite is $120 and the grand is $199.

In its own section but still considered part of the raw bar is the Domestic White Sturgeon, Osetra, and 000 Golden Osetra caviar. While the most expensive items on the menu at $95, $230, and $375 respectively, they are served with warm blinis, toast points, and the traditional accompaniments.

Appetizers

You’ll find a range of appetizers on the Lakeside menu meant to please any palate. For a healthy starter to your meal, the Caesar Salad and Roasted Heirloom Rainbow Beets both have a savory flavor profile but with fresh ingredients that are good for you. The Shrimp and White Bean Soup is your only liquid option and comes with a side of sourdough for dipping.

The other options are more satiating but they are also more expensive ranging from $25 – $33. The Maryland Crab Cake is one of the highlights from this section of the menu but so too is the Chili Rubbed Charred Octopus. It’s not your fried calamari but the flavors will open up your mind. Other options include the Diver Scallops, Seared Foie Gras, and Crispy Dumplings.

Entrees

Here is where you’ll find the innovative and creative flavors chef David Middleton is known for. If you want to try something exotic then try out the Wild Hawaiian Mahi Mahi or the Hawaiian Snapper which are both prepared in ways you’ve probably never tasted before. Both the New Zealand Big Glory Bay King Salmon and the Mediterranean Branzino are delicate pieces of fish well prepared and only found in unspecific regions of the world.

The highlights of the entire menu are the bouillabaisse, which costs $68, and the Serpentine Raviolo, which costs $59. The Bouillabaisse is a roasted shellfish dish cooked in a savory seafood broth and the Raviolo is king crab with squid ink and some shellfish glace. Closing out this section is a couple of vegetarian dishes and a chicken breast meal for those that have gotten their seafood fix already.

Specialties

While the entrees have a mix of flavors and ingredients that make them uniquely special, the specialty section at Lakeside highlights the best of the best seafood and protein. The Rock Lobster, Maine Lobster, and Prime Cut King Crab Legs are all market price and can be prepared simply or with chili rub.

There is also an entire section dedicated to charred steaks that are perfectly prepared to the temperature you want. Filet Mignon, Dry Aged Bone-In New York Strip, Boneless Rib Eye, Wagyu New York Strip, and Japanese Wagyu are all available. Prices range from $77 – $220.

Desserts

Plenty of sweets await those who have left room at the end of their meal. Slight twists on dessert classics make the Lakeside choices different from the regular choices you might find around the Las Vegas Strip.

Pumpkin Cheesecake and the Chocolate Chip Cookie Souffle with ice cream are two of the most tried but the Tea & Honey with honey marshmallow and Earl Grey ice cream is right up there. Another decadent choice is the Apple Mille-Feuille which comes with apple butter ganache and brown butter ice cream. Larger parties can try the Kaua’i Sugarloaf Pineapple Upside Down Cake that is meant to be shared.

Wine/Spirits

With as beautiful of an ambiance as Lakeside has it is no wonder you have an abundance of co*cktail and wine choices to enjoy your evening. Eight different co*cktails are available with all kinds of different spirits used and a gigantic wine menu is also available. You’ll find glasses, half bottles, full bottles, wine from different regions across the world, and the usual white, red, and rose options. There’s also a full bar at Lakeside so you’ll have no shortage of scotch, cognac, bourbon, and additional spirits available.

What’s the Atmosphere Like at Lakeside

Almost no other restaurant in Las Vegas offers the combination of elegance, class, surreal decor, and beautiful views quite like Lakeside. When you enter the restaurant you’ll immediately notice the large upside-down umbrellas hanging from the two-story tall ceiling.

The restaurant itself continues the modern and surreal decor but also adds a bit of sophistication to warrant the high-priced menu items and reputation. Outside is where the real magic happens. Nightly light and music shows entertain patio guests who overlook the Lake of Dreams that rests right outside the restaurant. At Lakeside, you’ll have all the signs of a fancy restaurant but without all the stuffiness.

Location: Lakeside is very close to the casino floor, making it easy to access. Head south from the casino floor until you reach the overlook area where you see upside-down umbrellas. The restaurant will be located on the right side.
