Hey All! New RAM owner here and cannot wait to start installing new features!
I have a 2017 Big Horn CC with the 8.4 Non Alpine. First thing i am going to do is install an amplifier/subwoofer.

My amplifier is a rockford p2002 and i do not believe it accepts high level output. I am going to install an LOC behind the Dash. Can anyone provide a factory wiring diagram for the Radio so i know what colors are for which speakers + and -

Thanks in advance for the support!

this may be a stupid question; but i assume your wiring is likely the same as the 2017? if so, here is what u gather for the wiring. Can anyone help me decipher the actual colors? I understand GY is grey, YL is yellow... But what is DG, LG, VT?

Also, i have read mixed forum posts on whether the LOC should be integrated into the Front or Rear speakers, any recommendations would be appreciated.

Front Left (+) GY/VT
Front Left (-) GY/YL
Front Right (+) DG/VT
Front Right (-) DG/YL
Rear Left (+) GY/DG
Rear Left (-) GY/LG
Rear Right (+) DG/LG
Rear Right (-) DG/GY

Hi All,

Figured i would update. My above writing is incorrect; i must have looked at this while my dyslexia was kicking in. This is the correct wiring:

Front Left (+) GY/VT
Front Left (-) GY/YL
Front Right (+) DG/VT
Front Right (-) DG/YL
Rear Left (+) GY/LG
Rear Left (-) GY/DG
Rear Right (+) DG/LG
Rear Right (-) DG/GY

Update again;

Finished the install on saturday, everything worked perfect. On my way into work this morning, i started to smell faint burning... I looked at the amplifier (Rockford p200-2) and it was smoking a bit.

Amplifier will not power on, the fuse on the amplifier seems to be internal ATC (havnt taken it apart yet). The Power at the amplifier is reading 14 volts and Remote and Amplifier is reading 14 Volts (give or take a slight deviation as i am not in front of the multimeter).

Inline fuse at the battery is fine.

I might now be looking into the amplifier may have just fried? Everthing else seems correct. Any advice would be great! Weird thing is that the amplifier does not display any power (No thermal mode or Protection mode enabled) at all now.

Whats your load on the amp, Ohms, how are your speakers wired? You running just subs? Subs and mid range? Highly doubt the fuse is inside the amp, unless your talking about thermal overload. If its Thermaled you need to remove the load, speaker wires, let it cool off and then if nothing has burned its self, turn back on.

The rockford p2002 is only good for 50 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms (100 watts RMS x 2 at 2 ohms) and 200 watts RMS x 1 bridged output at 4 ohms (4-ohm stable in bridged mode). You might have it loaded down to far.

I only have one subwoofer and it’s 4ohms. So I have the amplifier bridged for 200x1. Same setup I used in other vehicle. The amplifier has no external fuses; only internal mosfets.

I took the cover off of the amplifier, and it’s looks like the mosfets are toast.

I tried to attach a picture of them; but I believe that is the issue.

Yeah, that definitely looks fried. Double check all the impedences before picking up something new. What sub are you running?

I’ll check the impedences. My plan is to desolder and replace the transistors; they arnt expensive at all. Figured before throwing it out I’ll try and fix it lol. Just trying to figure out what size transistor I need: which is becoming more and more difficult.

I’m running a Rockford P3. I had it and the amp laying around from an old install, so figured I’d put it to use. It’s hits really hard in the truck; the wife is not happy her ass shakes lmao

Update**

I resoldered new Transistors and tested the amplifier at lunch. All seems to be running properly with no issues. My only concern is the amp frying again and causing some type of fire lol.
