What Do You Get For Finishing Every Shrine?
With an overworld as massive as Hyrule and a story that sends you high and low across the kingdom, you’ll want some fast travel points sooner than later in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Thankfully, not only are shrines helpful in getting stronger, but they also serve as warp points throughout Hyrule.

But with a three-digit number of shrines to find – some rather hidden – it’s a big undertaking to try to find every shrine in Tears of the Kingdom! Our guide features all 152 shrine locations in Tears of the Kingdom, with coordinates, location notes, and more.
In our Tears of the Kingdom shrine location guide, we've covered plenty of the shrines in individual guides.
If the name of a Shrine Challenge has a hyperlink in the tables in our TOTK shrine locations guide, the link takes you to a full guide for that shrine.
This guide contains spoilers for Tears of the Kingdom.
What Are Shrines?
In Tears of the Kingdom, just like they did in Breath of the Wild, shrines are structures littered all around Hyrule that offer short, voluntary challenges.
You never have to do shrines, but doing so rewards you with a Light of Blessing. And by collecting four of them, you can trade with a Goddess Statue for either one Heart Container or a segment of a Stamina Wheel.
These can be swapped, if you trade them in for one reward at a Goddess Statue and then realize you'd rather have the other option!
That said, in doing all 152 shrines in Tears of the Kingdom, you'll have all the stamina and hearts that Link can have in no time.
The shrines in Tears of the Kingdom are quite varied in the challenges that await you inside each shrine. These can be things like:
- Puzzle challenges that see Link attempting to make his way to the end of the shrine by way of solving puzzles like navigating a ball to a goal, creating contraptions, or even physically getting to the end of the shrine yourself.
- Training challenges, which are primarily in Central Hyrule, and teach Link new ways to fight.
- Proving Grounds challenges that feature combat challenges stripping Link of his armor and weapons, and making you fight a number of Constructs under various conditions. These fights can test things like stealth, Fusion combinations, problem-solving, and more.
- Crystal challenges, which require Link to locate and physically bring a crystal back to the shrine in order to activate it and head inside.
- Rauru's Blessings, which are simply a treasure chest and the end of the shrine. These are most typically the shrines that require some work to find, like the Crystal challenges or shrines hidden deep within caves.
Shrines can be out in the open, inside of caves, or related to Temples in the game as well. You'll be looking far and wide, over and under, so prepare to explore the bulk of Hyrule.
The game offers a visual difference between shrines you've done and new shrines, thankfully!
Shrines you haven't finished yet will appear in Hyrule with blue and green swirls around them. On the opposite end, once you've finished a shrine, it will still be active, but as a gray rock to prevent you from doubling back.
You Don't Have To Complete Shrines To Use Them As Warp Points
Since there are so many shrines in Tears of the Kingdom spread far and wide across Hyrule, you'll soon find the merit in using shrines as warp points as you play on.
A shrine will be marked on your map of Hyrule as soon as you get close enough to it to trigger the name appearing on your screen, which is typically when you see a green circle appear at the front of the shrine.
At this point, the shrine location is marked on your map. It will be fully orange, to denote that it hasn't been activated yet.
To activate a shrine, you need to interact with the green circle. This opens the shrine challenge, turning the symbol on your map partially blue around the outside, but you'll notice that the middle is still orange.
After a shrine has been activated, you can fast travel there by selecting the shrine icon on your map and selecting "Travel."
While it's definitely helpful to do so, you don't have to do shrines as soon as you find them. Maybe you're in the middle of a quest and don't want to interrupt yourself, or you're sprinting to unlock everything before diving into the thick of the game.
Whatever the reason, you can fast travel to shrines you haven't actually finished yet - just as long as you activated them before leaving, you'll be able to warp there from the map.
Shrines you've finished arecompletely blue on your map to help tell the difference.

All Sky Island Shrines
In addition to the 120 surface shrines that line up with the Lightroots in the Depths, you also have 32 shrines in the sky, spread far and wide across the various sky islands.
Plenty of these are used as helpful fast travel points for things like Zonai device dispensers for when you need to re-up on your most helpful fusion items, the Wind and Water Temples, or the labyrinth challenges related to a certain set of armor.

What Do You Get For Finishing Every Shrine?
After completing all 152 shrines in Tears of the Kingdom, the message you receive from Rauru and Sonia will be slightly different.
They tell you it's your last shrine challenge, and because you've completed them all, they direct you to the Temple of Time on Great Sky Island, where a reward is waiting.
Go inside the Temple of Time once you arrive - the fastest way to do so is by warping to Ukouh Shrine just southwest of the Temple itself.
Once inside, use recall on the cogs to get to the second level.
And finally, after you're up here, you'll see the Goddess Statue - your reward is waiting in a treasure chest just behind the Statue.
Inside, you'll find the Ancient Hero Armor, which "is said to contain the spirit of a hero who once saved Hyrule."
This one-piece armor changes your entire appearance when worn, and though it starts with12 defense, you can upgrade the armor to a staggering 84 defense when fully upgraded.
